InPursuit

{In Pursuit}

Good morning and God bless ya’ll!!! I feel as though I’ve been away from you forever!

I was sick in bed for 3 days last weeks (I’m still getting over it as I write). And to multiply my woes, I was having wireless internet issues. Talk about double whammy. But here we are, it’s a new week and I’m feeling a bit better. So here we go…

As you’ve probably heard me say many times before, {In Pursuit} is my journey to live the abundant life God has for me. For too long, I wasted time complaining, griping, regretting, whining, and wishing for a better life… yeah, I know, sounds like I’m talking about a total stranger, eh?!! {laugh}

But yeah, that was me!

I was bitter, angry, disgusted with life and you know, the worst thing about it is that I was a ‘Christ follower’. I was a professed Christ follower yet I was living a defeated life because of my defeated mindset.

Today, I am free from my defeated mindset!

Does that mean that my life is all smooth sailing? Far from it! As a matter of fact, since I’ve made the decision to stop living in regret, I’ve had to face many life changing challenges. I cannot sit here and pretend that it’s been all sunshine and rainbows.

However, I can, with all assurance and certainty, declare that it’s all been GRACE ABOUNDING!!

How does that happen? How does one go from fighting the world and griping at it all to true and total satisfaction… let me say, that it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with the Christ in me. It has nothing to do with Darlene’s steps for recovery, and everything to do with the awesome God I serve.

Did you know that simply changing your complaining attitude to an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving will produce in your life joy and peace beyond what you’ve ever experienced?

Did you know that simply changing your ‘why doesn’t anybody notice me?‘ to a ‘how can I serve You, Lord, today?‘ will change your outlook on why you do what you do?

Did you know that simply changing your ‘nobody cares about me‘ to ‘how can I demonstrate love and compassion for others‘ will open up for you doors of true friendships and fellowship you never knew you could have.

Did you know that pouring out into others would fill you rather than empty you out? It’s an oxymoron, isn’t it? One that I ponder on all the time. How does one give and yet overflow? Never emptying out, instead continuously flowing through the power of Jesus Christ…

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Psalm 23:5, NKJ

I love that about serving God. You go through seasons and you remain planted, like a tree, by rivers of water. You continuously bring forth fruit in season. Your leaves don’t wither and all that you do prospers…

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 1:3, KJV

And so, here on the front line of {In Pursuit}, we are undergoing changes. Changes that are causing me to look inward. Not in a selfish it’s all about me way. But instead, in a start here that you may  live a life without reproach (Philippians 2:15).

As the numbers of visitors to this site continue to grow, I am reminded that I have nothing to do with this and He [my awesome God] has everything to do with it. I am being pressed and I am finding that it’s time to give attention to things that perhaps went under the radar in the past.

See, God is doing a new thing. And I, my friend, am a part of it. When He sets His eyes on me, may He see a life in order. A life ready to be used. A life of service. A life {In Pursuit} of Him!

When you decide to invest of your time  most precious time by stopping here on {In Pursuit}, my prayer is that you would leave here renewed, encouraged, and empowered to live a live {In Pursuit} of Him!

So what is God asking of you??? I’d love to hear from you!!
